Peter Christianson (LawnChair Generals)
Lucas Keizer (Tango, Kolour)
Nonfiction (Robsoul, Focus)
Neil G (Streetlight, Hawt)
Greg Yuen (Motion Music)

Come join us for another night of great House music at the legendary Endup as m.deep and Motion Music bring you “Winding Rhodes!” Sunday December 6th will mark our second official Motion Music event as we again bring you a party like you’ve never seen before in San Francisco. Don’t miss this special night in which we welcome four Motion Music artists from all over the country to get you movin on the dancefloor.

Peter Christianson is one half of the LawnChair Generals. The LawnChair Generals have countless hits since their first EP, “The Great Escape” became an instant classic back in 2002. Their tracks have been licensed to over 20 different mixed CDs and compilations and DJs all over the world seem to always be eagerly awaiting their next release. This night proves to be extra special for Peter and Motion Music as we celebrate the release of Dave Miller & Kelly Hayden’s “Winding Rhodes EP,” in which Peter’s LawnChair Generals remix is featured. Peter’s remix of “Take What You Want” has been causing quite a stir lately amongst the top DJs in the land and we’re very excited to have him come play for us!Just like the last Motion Music event, we attempt to tie it all together and bring you DJs/producers you may not have seen before but are part of the Motion Music family. This time we bring you 3 up and coming producers, each of whom has had a release on the label in the past year.

Lucas Keizer, out of Houston has established himself over the past few years as a definite name to watch with releases on top labels like Tango and Kolour Recordings and we’re quite excited to welcome him to San Francisco for the first time!

Another rising star in the world of house music, Nonfiction seems poised to establish himself further in the upcoming year. 2009 has been a huge success for Nonfiction with releases on top notch labels like Lost My Dog, Robsoul, and Gene Farris’ label Farris Wheel. He is a resident at the famed Focus party in Orange County, and his aptly named “Orange County EP” on Motion Music came out a few months back and received accolades from DJ Heather and Diz to name a few.

Another guy to keep your eye on is Neil G of Los Angeles, California. His debut release “Far Back,” came out on Motion back in March and definitely established Neil as a rising star. Keep your eye on Neil G, as 2010 sees him teaming up with Luke Alan as “Left Minded,” and a scorching hot release signed to the legendary Paper Recordings.

Rounding out this amazing lineup will be Endup’s very own Resident DJ and MM label owner, Greg Yuen. Aside from label duties, Greg will be joining Motion Music’s roster of producers for the first time on Dave Miller & Kelly Hayden’s “Winding Rhodes EP.” He has teamed up with Evan Rhodes to drop a remix of Dave & Kelly’s “Give Love,” that is sure to round out the release in proper style.

Jason Hodges Coming To The Endup on May 17, 2009

Jason Hodges

Jason Hodges (hudd traxx, soul control, sampled, aroma, apt) will be bringin his hard-hitting beats and deep grooves all the way from Toronto to the Endup’s longest running Sunday Sessions party, Sunday Mass. With Jason’s signature sound, and those solid house sets the SM resident DJs have become known for, you can be confident it’s time again to lace up your dancing shoes and hit the dancefloor at SF’s most legendary club.

Canadian born Jason Hurtubise, arrived to the house music scene in 1991, taking on Toronto’s underground party scene he developed his DJing skills on the decks with the likes of New York - New Jersey sounds. Todd Terry, Kenny Dope + Lil Louie Vega (Maw) Zack Tomz, and Todd Edwards are a few of Hodges’ favorite producers.  Drawn to the sounds of drum machines, Hodges began renting gear from local music stores until finally deciding on a E-MU SP 1200, a piece commonly used by Hip Hop producers since it’s arrival in 1987.  Hard-hitting beats with deep grooves quickly became the signature sound for Hodges – whether in the studio, on the dance floors; in Toronto’s rapidly growing underground scene, and across Canada, Hodges was growing and coming into his own.

Jason began releasing records with various Toronto labels getting his feet wet remixing and co-producing tracks with some of Canada’s talents. After many years of training and development, Hodges returned to the scene with a new energy and a new plan.  As a part of the All World Entertainment (now apt Entertainment) team of house DJs and producers, Hodges teamed up on co-productions and remix work for several notable and established artists.

Floodgates opened for world travel and new music projects. Jason continued to build his profile; remixing artists like Freaks on MMF, Kaskade on OM, Sneak’s “Fix my Sink” on Magnetic, Cozy Creatures Oomph, Bosh, an EP for Swirl People on Aroma Records (Belgium), EP for Oomph Records (USA), EP for OAE Records (USA), Amenti Music, with many of his productions featured on several House of OM CD Series’ (Carter & Farina LIVE, DJ Sneak, Fred Everything) as well as Mark Farina AND Derrick Carter’s ‘Sessions’ for Ministry of Sound UK, respectively – all promising a steady and bright future for Canada’s best-kept secret.

Recent years have sent Jason across the globe, from Brazil to Belgium to Bulgaria, all the UK majors and exclusive Ministry of Sound events, Istanbul, Turkey, the Netherlands and over to Asia and Australia with the beautiful continent South Africa on the horizon.  For those who know, the name Jason Hodges represents the technical craft he pours into every production, with highly anticipated tracks being played and praised by the likes of Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Derrick Carter, DJ Raoul, among other eminent House Music Pioneers around the world.

We are so excited to have Jason at The Endup on May 17, 2009’s Sunday Sessions.

Greg Yuen LIVE at Sunday Mass. 04.19.09

Greg Yuen

Like that of many others, Greg Yuen’s love for House music started on the dance floor. DJing for about 8 years now, he has started to make a name for himself as of late, playing alongside some of the biggest names in the business. The year 2006 marked a turning point for Greg when he quit his corporate day job in order to pursue his passion that is House music. Soon after, he landed a job working for Primal Records and Amenti Music, where he began to make the right contacts and learn the business. The next logical step for him was to start his own record label, Motion Music. After the first release on Motion landed in the bags of many of House music’s top DJs, it was clear that the label was here to stay. During the daytime, Greg can be found marketing for Stompy.com, a leading digital download site that specializes in quality House music. Known for having good taste in music and a constant smile on his face, it’s easy to see that Greg Yuen not only loves House music, but he also lives House music.

Here’s the latest set he did at The Endup’s Sunday Sessions | Sunday Mass on April 19, 2009.  Greg said, “I really enjoyed this mix . . . it was one of the 2 nights a year or so that San Francisco is hot in the evening.  I was sweating in the DJ booth, and I seem to remember going through at least 3 cocktails during my set.”  We had to ask Greg, what cocktails were those?
